In October 2018, private, recreational use of cannabis was legalized. This has raised a number of questions for employers who now face how to appropriately handle cannabis use in the workplace.

As an employer, it is important to understand not only your obligations, but also your rights, when it comes to Marijuana in the workplace.

This includes the following considerations:

  • Medical exceptions
  • Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) considerations
  • Zero-tolerance restrictions
  • Drug testing at work
